Cygnets Abingdon is run and taught by Dorothy Bousted. Dorothy is a practicing ceramic artist and art has always played an important role in her life.

When she was young her parents found her a tutor for one to one tuition in fine art. It stayed with her all this time. It was exciting and inspiring, learning to use professional artistic methods such as painting, drawing and sculpture, and to do it well.

Since finishing her degree In fine art and having a desire to teach, she's been searching for a place she can share her passion, knowledge and creativity and inspire new and emerging young artists.

Cygnets Beaconsfield is run by Matt Trice and classes are taught in Beaconsfield and Penn. Matt is an experienced primary school teacher, with over 20 years teaching experience, and has a background in fine art. Art has always played an important part in his life since studying Fine Art at the Kent Institute of Art and Design, and he takes every opportunity to paint and draw in his spare time. Matt combines his knowledge and passion for art with his expertise in teaching to enable children to produce accomplished pieces of artwork and learn new techniques. In his spare time Matt also enjoys gardening and long walks with his family and dog Bertie.

Cygnets Bexleyheath is run by the husband and wife team: Katya and Ronnie. Katya is a primary school teacher who loves working with textiles and making her own clothes. Whilst Ronnie is an Art and Design teacher, with over 18 years of experience and a background in art and photography. Creativity has always been their passion. In their free time they enjoy gardening and doing various DIY projects for their house.

Having graduated from Cardiff School for Art & Design, Saya's main passion is for ceramics and sculpting. Having been fortunate enough to work and exhibit around the world, she eventually settled in Brighton with an Art Studio in New England House.

Saya has been teaching art in one form or another for the past ten years: "I love how art asks us to take another look from different perspectives, and to ask questions. I think it's a reminder we all need from time to time, and a great source of inspiration for children."

Tabby is the co-founder of the Cygnets brand, with her husband Hessy. Having studied at Chelsea College of Art, and later Central St Martins, they founded the original home branch in Kingston in 2012, with others following soon after. Tabby still runs these branches personally, as well as designing and filming all of the Cygnets projects! She is endlessly passionate about passing her passion and skills onto the next generation.

Having worked with Cygnets for years as our social media manager, Emily eventually decided to open up her own franchise branches in Steyning and Hassocks.

Emily has a fantastic eye for creativity and design, as well as a natural affinity with children.

Since graduating from Winchester School of Art, Isabelle has used her painting and drawing techniques to create artwork for fashion and homeware brands all over the world. From design agencies, high fashion and high street brands, along with eventually running her own print studio, she has honed her artistic expertise across many fields in the creative industry. Now combining these skills with her love of teaching, Isabelle is endlessly passionate about art and design and loves nothing more than to be able to pass it on to the younger generation!

Yan came to Cygnets as a parent of one our Richmond students, who was such a fan of the classes she wanted to start her own branch in neighboring Isleworth! Yan has an enormous passion for the arts and works with fantastic, experienced artist teachers to provide outstanding classes.

Cygnets Notting Hill is the brainchild of a dynamic husband-and-wife duo: Rania and Simon. Rania's roots trace back to the vibrant community of Notting Hill, where she was captivated by the local music and arts scene during her childhood. Her journey led her to cross paths with Simon in the same neighborhood, and together, they put down roots in Notting Hill. Driven by a shared vision to infuse artistic expression back into the community, they stumbled upon Cygnets Art School. Their mutual passion for the arts and education converged, providing a nurturing space for others to explore and cultivate their creative instincts.

Rania's academic journey took her through the halls of Chelsea School of Art, and she further honed her skills with a Master's in Education from the College of New Jersey. With more than two decades of experience, she has not only taught art across the globe but also traversed the realms of media and fashion. Rania's artistic flair extends to her role as a Textile artist, collaborating with esteemed institutions like the Ashmolean Museum and Oxford University, where she actively engages in curation and exhibitions.

Simon's artistic journey blossomed at Epsom School of Art, where he delved into the realms of fashion, illustration, and photography. His foray into the fashion industry provided a solid foundation, but his true passion lay in drawing, leading him to pursue studies at the Royal Drawing School. With six years of dedicated work, Simon's enthusiasm shines in his engagement with SEND schools and the arts. 

As a mother of two creative young girls living in Oxford, Piroo was always on the lookout to improve their art skills. Yet despite searching for years, she was unable to find the right school and methods in the area. After stumbling upon Cygnets' website, Piroo made the decision to open her own Cygnets branch in North Oxford, to be a part of her, and other children's artistic education.

"I'm so excited to see all the artworks from the students through the unique projects offered with Cygnets Art School. My main goal is to ensure the children are all satisfied with their art at the end of every session, and see their smiles!"

Phil is a professional artist in the film visual effects industry with a background in games & digital art. Having been so impressed by the artwork his son produced at our Wimbledon branch, he decided to open his own school in nearby Raynes Park! Phil is passionate about supporting the next generation of talent and developing their potential whilst having fun.

Cygnets Art School Rochester is run by Paige Burgess. Paige is an award winning professional Artist who specialises in realism oil painting and commissioned work. She studied at University for the Creative Arts and has 4 years experience working with children as a Primary School Learning Support Assistant. Combining her love of Art and working with children, she has now opened Cygnets Rochester as a perfect way to share both of her passions.

Cygnets Ruislip is run by Louise Hamer who has a background as an Arts Therapist practising in schools, care homes and hospitals for over 13 years. Louise enjoys enabling students of all ages to produce artworks that they are proud of whilst also having fun along the way.

Louise had a childhood love of Monet and begged her parents to take her to Monet’s garden at Giverny. When they did it only further cemented her lifelong love of Impressionism and this is still what she makes a beeline for when visiting a gallery.

Cygnets South Solihull is run by Alex O’Donoghue and classes are taught in Dorridge and Central Solihull. Alex is an experienced primary school teacher, with over 20 years teaching experience, who has a background in fine art and design.

Alex combines her love of art, with her expertise in teaching, to enable children to produce pieces of artwork that demonstrate their full potential.

Being creative has always come naturally to Alex and in her spare time she enjoys painting, drawing and upcycling furniture.

Having worked with Cygnets for years as our social media manager, Emily eventually decided to open up her own franchise branches in Steyning and Hassocks.

Emily has a fantastic eye for creativity and design, as well as a natural affinity with children.

Carrera has always had an avid interest in the arts and being a mother herself, wishes to share her passion for art with young children and adults alike. Carrera has previously worked in the fields of antiquities and art restoration; including a few years in Tokyo, Japan. Upon her return to London, Carrera continued to work in the art world and has continuously looked for opportunities to satisfy her passions. Carrera has now taken over the Cygnets franchise in Teddington in January 2024 and is looking forward to showing, demonstrating and teaching her students the joys of art.

Our first ever franchisee, Molly opened Cygnets Twickenham on the famous Eel Pie Island, and later took on the nearby Teddington branch. Molly produces extraordinary work with her students, as well as her own beautiful paintings which she works on alongside running the school.

Janet is an experienced primary teacher and registered Arts Therapist (Expressive Arts) ANZACATA (AThR), with extensive experience working with children and adolescents in both educational and therapeutic settings.

Having studied Advanced Diploma of Fine Arts, and Diploma of Watercolour, at School of Continuing and Professional Studies at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Janet then further advanced her study and graduated from Master of Expressive Arts Therapy.

Running her own art school is Janet's childhood dream. With her experience, art becomes not only a technique, but also a language to communicate with others. She is dedicated to bring art to the children and adolescents of Watford: providing an opportunity for them to express themselves through creativity.

Cindy is a Chelsea College of Art graduate with great experience in delivering workshops about the importance of art in our everyday lives. By being the art teacher at Wimbledon she offers students a mindful but efficient way to improve their artistic skills and develop their practice. Cindy loves to see the work of her students and to work out together their identity in the art world.
